Would you like to try watercolor, get your hands into soft pastel, discover the magic of charcoal, or find out just how much an ordinary line can do? This art course with tutor Áta will guide you through different worlds of drawing and painting – from the basics to combining techniques and exploring their possibilities.
You can look forward to 6 sessions held every two weeks, each lasting 3 hours, during which you’ll gradually explore pencil and charcoal, dry pastel, watercolor, pen drawing, and combinations of these techniques.
Each lesson is also a standalone introduction to a specific artistic technique. You don’t need to attend the entire series to try something new. You can choose just the techniques that appeal to you and join individual sessions. If you’d rather embark on a creative journey through a variety of techniques, you can book the entire six-lesson series at a discounted price.
The course is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced artists. Áta will introduce you to the basic principles of each technique, share her tried-and-tested approaches, and give you individual guidance throughout the creative process. She can adapt the assignments to suit your level, so they remain enjoyable while also helping you move forward – whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience with drawing.
This isn’t just about “learning a technique.” Above all, you’ll have space to try, discover, experiment, and find your own way of expressing yourself.
17 September – Pencil & Charcoal
We’ll start with the basics. You’ll explore different types and grades of pencils and learn how to work with charcoal.
1 October – Dry Pastel
Painting without a brush. Explore soft, powdery pastels, layering colors, and working directly with your hands.
15 October – Watercolor
From the first splashes of color to a finished painting. You’ll learn the basic principles of watercolor and create your own artwork on high-quality cotton paper.
29 October – Pen Drawing
Paper, pen, and line. We’ll explore fineliners, pens, and markers and discover how much can be expressed with a single line.
12 November – Pen Drawing & Watercolor
A combination of crisp lines and soft washes of color. You’ll learn how to bring these two techniques together.
26 November – Watercolor & Dry Pastel
A watercolor underpainting as a base, followed by dry pastel for layering, refining, and adding details.
The basic materials are included in the course fee. For selected sessions (dry pastel, watercolor, and their combinations), a small cash contribution will be collected on site to cover paper and paints.
If you have your own art supplies, feel free to bring them along. It’s often easiest to create with materials you already know and love working with.
